Her journey in dentistry is as diverse and enriching as her background, having grown up in various locations both overseas and in the United States before settling in the Bay Area during her senior year of high school. Dr. Anita's path to dentistry was uniquely sparked by a toothache and a dentist's attentive care, which led her to appreciate the immediate impact dental health can have on quality of life. This experience, combined with her fascination for shiny dental instruments and gadgets, directed her towards a career where she could enhance someone's health while indulging in her love for technology. Her academic journey was diverse, beginning at the University of California at Davis, where she explored various majors in science, art, literature, and language. Ultimately, dentistry became her focus, merging her interests in hands-on creation and health. She then honed her skills at UCSF, where she received her dental training. With over two decades in the dental field, Dr. Anita is committed to continuous learning, often delving deep into new techniques, materials, and instruments that spark her interest. Her personal philosophy in dentistry centers around treating each patient as if they were a family member, finding a balanced approach to care. Before joining Total Health Dental Care, Dr. Anita's rich experience included private practice, working at the Public Health Dental Clinic in Santa Rosa, CA, and serving in the Indian Health Services in Lake County. Outside the clinic, Dr. Anita has a wide array of interests that reflect her dynamic personality. From her family tradition of watching 'Survivor' to taking piano lessons, agility dog training, and even lockpicking, she enjoys a life full of varied hobbies and passions. At Total Health Dental Care, Dr. Anita appreciates the mutual support and shared goal of providing the best possible care for patients while taking care of each other. Her approach to dentistry is not just about treating teeth; it's about caring for people, making every visit a comforting and positive experience.

I believe that my patients deserve the best dentistry possible and that patient experience is key to my success as a doctor. I’m dedicated to making sure each of my patients feels relaxed, comfortable and confident in the treatment. To that goal, I enjoy explaining each diagnosis and encourage my patients to ask any questions they may have. I also strive to empower my patients with the knowledge to take control of their health. I focus on prevention and use nutrition as a tool to help patients overcome long-term dental issues such as gum disease, loss of teeth and cavities. I love people and seek to develop lasting professional relationships with my patients.

At Total Health, we do everything under one roof. Our team of specialists do everything from periodontal treatments to oral surgery, orthodontic and implants.

What are you proud of in your practice?

I am proud of the excellent dentistry and exceptional experience we provide. Our patients rave about us on Yelp and Google. It’s fulfilling to see a new patient come in with some level of anxiety and leave feeling 100% comfortable with and confident in the cleaning or treatment. Our patients leave feeling good about themselves. They leave smiling.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

Since dentistry is a combination of science and art, every case is fulfilling. I really love helping people. It’s an incredible feeling to see a patient smile with confidence and genuine happiness after an office visit.
