Dr. Scott Townsend

Dr. Scott Townsend grew up in Claresholm, Alberta, a small farming community 100 km South of Calgary. Scott played hockey throughout High School, eventually playing in the Western Hockey League (center, wing, defence). His teams included the Spokane Chiefs, Medicine Hat Tigers and the Lethbridge Hurricanes. After leaving the WHL, Dr. Townsend enrolled in the University of Calgary, with a focus on Biology and Sciences. Dr Townsend graduated from the University of Alberta Dental School, with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree and has been a practicing dentist in Calgary for 19 years. He is excited to have joined the Sandstone Dental Team. Dr Townsend provides all aspects of general dentistry but has a special interest in Wisdom Teeth Removal, Implant Dentistry, and Periodontal Gum Surgery treatment. If you need wisdom teeth removed, have one or more missing teeth, loose-fitting dentures, or receding gum issues, Scott can provide you with treatment options that are right for you. Dr Townsend is a member of the Alberta Dental Association and College, as well as the Canadian Dental Association. Scott enjoys spending time with his family, especially his two beautiful daughters. He also enjoys an active lifestyle that includes running, biking, golfing, skiing, swimming, and skating.
