Dr. Maria A. Hayes, DDS

Dr. Maria Hayes is a graduate of The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, one of the best in the country. She has been a dentist for over two decades and remains current on new dental technology through Continuing Education courses since receiving her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. Dr. Hayes first graduated from OSU in 1993 as a dental hygienist. It didn't take long for her to realize that cleaning people's teeth wasn't enough of a challenge for her, bringing her back to school to become a dentist. When she graduated with a DDS degree, she purchased and ran her first dental office in Ashland, Ohio before moving to the DC Metro area in 1997. Dr. Hayes worked as a dental associate for several years before founding Alluring Smiles. While working in other dental practices she realized that she could not practice dentistry as she wanted to; offering the best care possible in a relaxed and inviting office with caring staff. Her high ethical standards drive how she treats her patients, the cornerstone of Alluring Smiles.

What are you proud of in your practice?

I have worked in many dental offices before deciding to open up my own practice in my home area of the Kentlands, in Gaithersburg. I am very proud of my team in our ability to provide people with quality dental care in a very soothing and "homey" environment.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

I am very passionate about treating each patient specific to their needs, and strive to make a positive impact with each visit. I mostly enjoy getting the results of people no longer suffering from dental pain due to infection, mis-aligned teeth or TMJ. My greatest joy is in seeing someone with a healthy smile on their face and knowing I gave that back to them.
