Dr. David Lemon

I love being a dentist. I have enjoyed working with my hands ever since I was a child customizing model cars and airplanes. The fun was in the creative process of design solutions. I guess I could have gone into engineering but I was drawn to people and using that creative process to provide dental health care solutions for people. To the lay person, it may seem that “teeth are teeth” but really, absolutely every person and their mouth is different and requires a unique approach. Quality dentistry requires good problem solving skills – you look at each person’s needs and wants and design something that makes sense for them both functionally and cosmetically. Additionally, I love meeting people who come to see me for care and developing relationships with them and their families. There is something to learn from everybody. This also helps me in providing their customized care. I was born and raised in Moline where my father was a teacher in the Moline school system for 35 years. I graduated from Moline High School in 1968 and went to the University of Illinois. In 1975, I received my dental degree. After graduation, I was a dental officer in the US Navy serving with the Fleet Marine Force in California and Okinawa, Japan. I came back to Moline and opened my office in February 1980. Ever since that time, I have enjoyed learning by taking many continuing education programs, courses, and workshops. I earned my Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2006 and am presently finishing up a Frank Spear Restorative Dentistry Continuum at the Scottsdale Center for Dentistry. My wife, Pam, and I have been married for 33 years and have one son, Tom, who graduated from Augustana College in 2010. In my spare time, I enjoy almost all sports and continue to be humbled by golf!
