Dr. Jason Perlman

Dr. Perlman grew up in Youngstown, OH and studied at Arizona State University where he received his undergraduate degree. He moved back home and attended The Ohio State University College of Dentistry before training at a general practice residency program at Akron City Hospital’s Center for Dental Health. During his residency he received awards for excellence in restorative, periodontal, and endodontic therapy. Dr. Perlman continued his education and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine to effectively treat snoring and obstructive sleep apnea with oral appliance therapy. He has also completed a residency program at the Washington Academy of General Dentistry where he studied implantology and adjunctive surgical procedures. Since graduating from this program, he has returned each year as visiting faculty to help teach other dentists these techniques as well.

Why should patients choose you as their provider instead of others in the area?

My goal as a provider is to help patients understand they are in control of their oral health. Rather than telling a patient what they need, I am here to empower them by offering customized treatment options that they feel is best for them. Oftentimes, patients feel their dentist rushes through treatment and exams. I am committed to spending the necessary time to educate and provide an elevated standard of treatment and care.

What are the top 3 treatments that you focus on?

I love helping restore patients’ smiles and improving their functional abilities. The treatments I focus on are replacing missing teeth with the help of implants, bridges, or removable prosthetics (dentures) as well as full mouth rehabilitation. I have a special passion in treating patients who suffer from obstructive sleep apnea (as I did in the past) with oral appliance therapy. This is a non-invasive alternative to CPAP therapy and is truly a service that helps save lives.

What are you proud of in your practice?

Behind the comfortable environment we’ve created is a team of passionate individuals who are dedicated to the community we serve. From the moment someone walks through our door they are the center of our attention. While we have many amenities to provide patient comfort, I believe it’s the care our team displays that most soothes patients and make them feel comfortable in our office. We often say we do not treat teeth in our office, we treat people. I believe, with this philosophy, we are able to connect with patients in a very unique and caring way.

Which cases do you enjoy treating? Why?

I feel most fulfilled when I am able to connect with a person who has otherwise felt dismissed at other dental offices. Dentistry can be very intimidating- so actively listening to my patients, helping them navigate their treatment, and celebrating when they achieve their oral health goals is wildly fulfilling and drives me to do my best every day. Whether working on a straight forward or very complex case, supporting my patients through their journey brings me so much joy.
