David R.Curtis, D.M.D.

Hi, I'm Dr. Dave Curtis, affectionately known here at the office as "Dr. Dave". We opened our practice in Downtown State College in 1962, on the corner of Beaver and Allen. The first generation, Dr. Donald Curtis, started his practice here after he had graduated from Penn State. His father was a Penn State Grad in the 1920's, so we certainly are not new to the area. I grew up in the community, active in Church Groups, Boy Scouts, and Music Programs as I graduated from State High in 1984. Following my undergraduate degree in Biology, I lived for four years in Pittsburgh, to attend dental school at Pitt, and I graduated a general dentist in 1992. While I sometimes miss Pittsburgh, I couldn't wait to return to Happy Valley to start my career. Now 23 years later, I am the owner with a few decades of practice in my history. I am married to Lisa, the friendly voice at our front desk, and we have four wonderful daughters. I am active in aviation, as president of the Tussey Mountain Flying Club, and I love being a local pilot.I really enjoy attending the track & cross country events that my daughters are involved in. My father Dr. Donald Curtis, while retired, remains in the State College area. Since cosmetic dentistry isn't a board recognized specialty, I suppose we all can call ourselves cosmetic dentists. Over the years, we have adopted many of the best treatment protocols for a variety of dental treatments. These include Zoom! whitening, Perioprotect gum treatment trays, Clearcorrect aligners (clear orthodontic aligners), Six Month Smiles clear cosmetic braces, Salivary testing, and the Carifree system of cavity prevention. All of these require the dentist to become certified, and I have completed many, many hours of certification and clinical experience with all of these products. We are not a high pressure dental office. We will present you with options for treatment, provide you with the information and education about dentistry for you to make your own decision about treatment within your own budget. We hope we will have the opportunity to serve you soon. Our current, modern office is located just on the west side of State College, with plenty of free parking.
